DEAR FRIENDS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD!
New tactic by the Turkish
Government and the Police is in use. They have pulled out of Taksim in
Istanbul, and they are leaving the protesters alone there because that's
where the international media has their cameras rolling. They want you
to think that brutality has stopped.
It hasn't.
Excessive police force against protesters has escalated in smaller towns
all over Turkey, and especially in Ankara. What they aren't doing in
Taksim right now, they are doing twice as much in Ankara, Adana,
Antakya, Eskisehir, and dozens of other cities across Turkey. They shoot
gas bombs into residential houses, they use rubber bullets, beat people
and arrest them. The torture is increasing and becoming even more
violent.
We need to draw attention to Ankara via social media as
we did at the beginning of the protests. Please give your hand and help
us raise awareness on our call for peaceful protests in Ankara!
